What's up guys and gals, my name is Eric I'm the bearded dude you've seen on the YouTube videos. I got my start in preparedness about 6 years ago when I discovered I was going to be a dad. Although I have always been into bushcraft and the outdoors, being responsible for another human being has a way of putting things into perspective! I decided that I needed to have the skill set and knowledge to ensure her livelihood no matter the situation, and it just kind of snowballed from there.
There is a certain amount of security and freedom that you discover by leading a more prepared lifestyle. There is also a darker side once the veil has been lifted and you start seeing the world for what it is. This typically hits people like a 5 ton truck and some adopt unhealthy copping mechanisms as a result. Being prepared isn't one of those unhealthy things, although it can get out of hand if not done with reality in mind. Anybody who's ever been called a "prepper" in a condescending tone will find solace in the group here. We understand that it is a logical and evolutionary response to want to be prepared, and I on behalf of the blackspearone project welcome anyone who is seeking answers and friendship in this purposeful hobby.
Welcome aboard!
